Election fallout.

It seems there is a new phenomenon since the federal election. I call it the 'Humpty Dumpty Syndrome.'The Liberals seem to be falling off the wall, and quitting in droves. It would seem they do not have the will to get back in to the fight, and they have a yellow streak down their backs. Without John Howard leading them from the rear, they are in total disarray.
There will of course, be a ballot for the Liberal leadership. The two contenders who have thrown their hats in the ring so far, are Tony Abbot, and Malcolm Turnbull.I would not give tuppence for either of them. I think Abbot is a mean dude, and just argues for the sake of it. Turnbull is an unknown quantity ,(to me) but I am informed he would really be the best choice for the leader. Time will tell.
Abbot has gone head to head with Julia Gillard on telly, and she has put it all over him. I look forward to seeing how she fares.

All Systems Go!!!

At last and finally, we have the cook top and wall oven connected and working!!! We contacted the electrician two weeks ago, and he said he was very busy and he would get back to us last week, but it did not happen. I spoke to my son this morning as usual, and he said to call the guy, so I did, after lunch. He thought we wanted a repair done, but I put him straight on that score. He said he would be around in half an hour. He and his apprentice checked the situation out, and they went to Ron's home to get some cable and some other bits, then Ron dropped the apprentice off so he could start the job, while he went to do something else. Craig, the apprentice, said Ron had gone to order something. When Ron came back, half an hour later, I heard him say something about the Melbourne Cup, so wondered if he was placing a bet too. I thought it a bit cheeky that Ron charged us for an hour for himself when he was only here 20 minutes tops! Anyway, I can't wait to get baking.
Neville is screwing the cupboards together, as Ron said by law and for obvious safety reasons, the wall oven cupboard has to be secured, not free standing, so it does not tip over when I take something heavy, like a roast out of the oven.
